I have about 10k left and we’re in the home stretch. This will be a close one.

I’m edging ever closer to my 50k goal. I’m not sure if the story itself will end at 50k, that still remains to be seen.

There is some big action happening right now in my plot, so it’s all a matter of resolving the conflict which may take some time.

Once I’ve reached my goal (and hopefully finished my story) I’ll post the first chapter.

I am still hovering just above 30k–as the title denotes. I’m experiencing a little bit of a blockage, but I’m sure I’ll be back on track in the near future.

I’m having difficulties switching perspectives as my story requires more than just a first person narrative–so, once the technical difficulties are all sorted out, I’ll be on my way once again.

Hooray for story writing.

*Good luck to all you JulNoWriMo hopefuls.

I passed the 30k mark! 20K to go. Wish me luck, I’m well on my way to having a complete novel–or at least a draft.

I’m on a roll–hopefully I will meet or exceed tonights 30k deadline. I have plans to write at least 2 chapters tonight–so hopefully I can get ahead of the curve.

I have about 20k to go before meeting the JulNoWriMo word requirement–but I have a feeling that my story will take me beyond the word requirement. I hope to be able to finish the novel before the end of the month because I have plans to start another novel and participate in AugNoWriMo.

If work is slow, I may also participate in September’s writing month.

Hey Guys,

I am currently at 24,133 (at the title denotes)–I’m still behind and working hard to catch up! I am determined to hit 50k by the end of the month.

Also, since the publishers at Red Sage seemed to like my novella so much, I decided to send it out to other publishers and I got another bite! I sent the full manuscript out today! Maybe this publisher will pick me up!

I will make sure to keep everyone informed!

Hey Guys,

I’ve managed to add a few chapters (and a few thousand words) to my novel. I’d like to keep going, but find that if I add too much at once, I tend to lose focus and I lose time when I go back to correct the storyline.

I haven’t done too many of these longer pieces, every time I tried, I would put it aside after having written a few chapters and then I would forget about it. This year has brought me success in the realm of longer pieces.

I do, however, find that when I am writing my novels, I constantly compare them to the types of novels I enjoy reading and I always find my work lacking, but perhaps my writing style just differs from that of the writers that I enjoy reading.

I feel like I write much more in the style of Marjorie M. Liu than I do Kim Harrison–which is funny because I do not enjoy reading Liu but I love to read Harrison? Perhaps this is a problem that many writers face, I’m not sure.

That’s it for now. I will keep you all informed on my progress.

Hey All,

Sorry, it’s probably been quiet here without me. I’ve been trying to work on the novel. At the moment I am behind….I had to do some early draft revision because I felt my characters were lacking focus. So, I am at about 18,298 words and I plan to add at least 2k more tonight.

Hey Guys,

Sorry my posts are a bit self-indulgent as of late. I am very focused on completing my new novel–which now has the working title, “Damned Before Breakfast.”

My goal is to reach @ least 50,ooo words. So far, i’ve written 60 pages, 9 chapters and 15,821 words. So, I am almost to the 1/3 mark.

Wish me luck! I am off to write more.
