Publication…. Finally!

Well kidlets, I am super excited to be able to announce that my poem, “Almost Intimate Escapades” will be published in the January/February issue of The Writer’s Eye Magazine!
This is my first publication in some time. I was so astonished to read the words “We are happy to announce that we’ve accepted your poem…” I almost just deleted the e-mail tossing it out as another failed attempt! Ha ha! I am glad that I didn’t.
Aside from my work with Suite101, this is my first publication since 2004-2005. I suppose a few years isn’t that long to go without publication, but it could be better. I am glad that I’ve found a literary magazine that fits with my “unique” style of writing. Often times I am too crass for publications which makes me a bit sad… why couldn’t Bukowski have started up a publication! I would surely fit there!
If you would like to know a little bit more about the publication or read the current issue, please visit The Writer’s Eye website. The magazine is a unique venue for writers that also happen to be visual artists. Each written publication is accompanied by an original art piece (photo, painting, sculpture) that was done by the same artist. In some cases the piece of art is also the writing (See Home by Kit Croucher).I particularly enjoyed, “The Seasoning of Winter” by Earnest Williamson (the painting is wonderful!) and “Insomnia” by Melissa Kirchner. Though, all of the published works in the current issue are spectacular.
Give it a shot!
